CREATIVE APPROACH

For over a decade my creative approach has been fueled by a deep passion for the Japanese concept of Shibui (Shibumi/Shibusa), which embodies seven distinct elements: Simplicity, implicity, modesty, naturalness, everydayness, imperfection, and silence. I bow before its refined aesthetic of simple, subtle, and unobtrusive beauty.

With Shibui in my heart, I have developed a distinctive and contemporary language of nature photography. The collections are known for their strong artistic statement and masterful execution.

For Sommardale Art, I create and curate pieces that are felt, powerfully evoking presence and connection. My art isn’t for everyone. But for those who feel it, something softens - and in that softening, stillness awakens. And stillness, I’ve found, is the beginning of everything.
