A Photography Excursion in the Lake District with Mark Littlejohn - Capturing the Essence of Nature (and Creating "Kissing The Ground")
Few places in the UK evoke the sense of tranquillity and beauty like the Lake District. For photographers, both amateur and professional, this national park offers an unparalleled opportunity to capture nature at its finest. The rugged mountains, glistening lakes, and sweeping valleys provide a canvas for ones creativity to flourish, especially if you are drawn to, well, nature photography.
When I got the chance to attend a landscape photography training with Mark Littlejohn in the Lake District, there was no stopping me. I hopped on a plane, hubby in tow, and immersed myself in an invigorating learning experience and time spend with fellow photographers. Utter bliss!

I created "Kissing the Ground" in a meadow in the Lake District. I was drawn to the swaying and dancing of the tall grass, just before a brooding storm. With each gust of wind, the slender blades bend and sway in unison, kissing the ground, painting a dramatic portrait against the sturdy trees. As rain pelts down and winds whip through the landscape, the once gentle rustling transforms into a wild symphony, drumming the rhythmic beat of nature's temper. The sound of grass in a storm is a reminder of nature's uncompromising power and raw energy that reverberates through the air, leaving an indelible mark on the senses. It's a mesmerising display of resilience and adaptability, a testament to the enduring strength of life even in the face of adversity.
It makes me smile to even write about it. I love the memory of that very special trip to the beautiful Lake District.
